MULTICULTURALISM AND PERFORMANCE OF PRIVATE UNIVERSITIES IN KINSHASA, DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO

The study examined how multiculturalism influences the performance of private universities in Kinshasa, DRC. Using a positivist philosophy and descriptive cross-sectional design, data were collected from 341 respondents across 29 universities and analyzed with SPSS 27.0. Results showed that multiculturalism had a significant positive effect on university performance, leading to the rejection of the null hypothesis. Interpreted through Social Identity Theory, the findings suggest that embracing ethnic and cultural diversity fosters respect, collaboration, and group cohesion, thereby enhancing institutional outcomes. The study recommends prioritizing recruitment and engagement of staff from varied cultural backgrounds through inclusive hiring, diversity training, and intercultural exchange initiatives.
