Abstract

Pregnancy-induced hypertension increase the risk of adverse maternal and fetal outcomes and impact women the sub-Saharan African region at disproportionately higher rates. It is one of the leading causes of maternal and perinatal mortality accounting for an estimated 14% of maternal deaths. Despite the fact that pregnancy-induced hypertension is a serious public health concern, evidence about its magnitude and contributing factors is still lacking in Kenya.
